St. Thomas Chronicle • March 2008

We will be closed in observance of Good Friday, March 21!

teacher, kids, girl with crownWeek of the Young Child -- April 14-18

WOYC is a week where St. Thomas not only celebrates the children in our care, but the teachers too!  We have a lot going on for that week, so here is a tentative agenda.

Monday April 14 is Hat Day! Children and staff wear your silliest or most creative! We will also host a “Teddy Bear Picnic” in the gym for lunch that day. All classes attend.  Lunch will be at 11:30 a.m.

Tuesday April 15 is Western Day! Wranglers, Ropers and Stetsons! Dress up like a Cowboy or Cowgirl!

Wednesday April 16 is Spirit Day (everyone wears favorite team colors).

Thursday April 17 is Jammie Day. Pancake breakfast is 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. Parents will be required to eat with their children if their child needs breakfast that day. Breakfast will not be served in the classrooms.

Friday April 18 is Dress Up Day where everyone wears their "best." We will host an ice cream social for snack at 3:00 p.m Parents are invited!

Week of the Young Child is also considered a “Teacher Appreciation” time for child care providers.  Please make sure to acknowledge your child's/children’s teachers. A simple pat on the back and a thank you would mean the world!

Slow Down Please!

You must slow down when you pull into the parking lot!  We are getting complaints from families having near misses.

Class Pictures

Lisa Tramelli from Tramelli’s Photography will be at St. Thomas on Wednesday April 2 and Thursday April 3 for class pictures. Infants, Orange, Red and PTPK will take pictures on Wednesday with Purple, Blue, Green and PTPK having pictures on Thursday. Please make every effort to have your children here on those days. Class pictures are fun ... especially with all of our friends included!

Child Find ID Event

The Giant Springs Chapter of Credit Unions is sponsoring a Child ID setup at St. Thomas. On March 19, from 3–6 p.m. a group for Montana Federal Credit Union will be here to take height and weight measurements along with a photo to create an identification card for your child. Please watch for more information.

Spring Jackets Needed

If you can, leave a hooded sweatshirt at school for your child to wear. Spring is coming and the days are getting warmer, but sometimes we need an extra layer. Remember ... we go outside everyday!

Spring Your Clocks Forward!

This weekend is when we change our clocks by moving ahead one hour. This time change is very hard on children as they will all need to get up one hour earlier come Monday morning. You can make it easier on your children by starting now and adjusting the time in 15-minute increments. By Sunday all will be well and the kids will be on schedule.
